opinions please

I've been trying to decide on a diaper bag.
I love the petunia pickle bottom bags
they are adorable I ordered one a while back and now I'm have second thoughts

I found this really cute bag on the Kate Spade sample sale
I love how classy and timeless it is
it doesn't really say diaper bag but it still has the compartments
it is a little smaller which is where I need the opinions

do you prefer to have a separate bag for all the baby gear or just carry the essentials in your purse
if you go into the mall do you take the bare minimum?
or lug everything around?
which would you chose
the sale ends tonight so i gotta decide soon!

Obviously I have no idea because I have not had my baby yet...but...I don't want to look like I am carrying around a diaper bag all the time - so I would go with the Kate Spade bag. It is so cute and everyone has a PPB. I like the slightly smaller look - plus it might force you to carry around less junk? Not sure. I bought a pretty giant bag, and am hoping its not too big. I got a Timi and Leslie. But - I love the Kate Spade one you are looking at - plus what a great deal! They are both cute and I am sure you can't go wrong. Good luck!

I haven't bought a diaper bag yet, however, I'm in love with a more timeless look and I think the kate spade bag is superb! The PPB bag is darling, but I agree, everyone has them. As far as if it's useful for size etc I'm also curious to what people have loved.

Go with the Kate Spade. You really don't need all of the compartments. Mostly you'll just want to have diapers, wipes, pacifiers and maybe some toys. I just use whatever purse goes with my outfit.

i never carried a purse, and have seldom since, however with the babies I used a purse; liz claiborne and dooney and burke were my favorites. they have compartments are durable and clean up from spills easy. i think a shoulder strap is the only part that i learned was helpful. some bags come with a strap that you can take off and on as needed. when juggling a kid, carseat...extra blanket, jackets, whatever...the strap option was awesome! I agree with having more than one that you can interchange. keep essentials in ziplock baggies so that they can easily be thrown in whatever bag you want as you run out the door. also...extra zip locks are great for dirty diapers when you have to carry out!

Meg, I had never heard of timi and Leslie, so cute!
Rachel we definitely have a lot to learn
Lyndsay, I appreciate the straight forward ness. Sometimes that's exactly what I need
Si tu veux, thanks for sharing your experience the lack of shoulder strap was something my husband pointed out as well.

I went with Kate spade and can't wait for it to show up! I couldn't pass up such a deal and couldn't stop thinking about how chic the bag looked. Thanks for all the opinions.
